(June 6, 2025 – VERSAILLES, KY.) — There are legends, and then there are the LPGA Legends.
The 3rd annual Woodford Legends Invitational powered by Suran Systems is poised to showcase the talents of one of the deepest team event fields this season on the Legends of the LPGA circuit.
Fifteen two-person teams made up of many of the greatest names in the history of women’s golf will take on The Woodford Club golf course for a 36-hole competition on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. Five teams made up of top area amateurs will play alongside the Legends and compete in a separate division. Click here to see the Pairings & Tee Times for tomorrow’s opening round.
Ten teams are returning; five teams are newly formed. Everyone is ready.
LPGA & World Golf Hall of Famer Pat Bradley, one of seven women in the game who have completed the Career Grand Slam, played The Woodford Club in last year’s event with teammate Jamie Fischer, a past champion on the Legends of the LPGA who qualified for her first U.S. Women’s Open when she was 18.
“When I come back to a course a second time, I am really concentrating around the greens, because that’s where the scoring is,” says Bradley, a 31-time LPGA Tour champion who won a Legends team event with Fischer in 2022. “I’m really trying to concentrate on pin placements, the breaking, the roll and everything about each of those greens.”

LPGA & World Golf Hall of Famer Pat Bradley
Catriona Matthew, defending champion with teammate Becky Morgan, is a 4-time LPGA Tour winner who appeared in nine Solheim Cup contests and captained the Euros to victory in 2019 and 2021. Matthew agrees that given the scramble format and the talent-packed field, it will all come down to who makes the putts.
“You have to give yourself a birdie putt on every hole,” notes Matthew.
In addition to Bradley, four more World Golf Hall of Fame members are in the field, including Dame Laura Davies, Jan Stephenson, Juli Inkster and Hollis Stacy.
Davies will team up with longtime friend and team event playing partner Trish Johnson, a three-time major winner on the Legends of the LPGA with 19 wins on the Ladies European Tour. Davies and Johnson last won a Legends team event in 2017.
“The course is in great condition,” says Davies. “The rough is up compared to last year, so you have to be the fairway. Even with the scramble format and being able to place the ball if you went into the rough, it’s not the same as last year where you could still see the back of the ball. It’s a much tougher shot.”
Inkster, a 31-time LPGA Tour champion who has also completed the Career Grand Slam, will make her first appearance in the Woodford Legends Invitational this weekend and team up with good friend Pat Hurst, a 6-time LPGA Tour champion who served as Assistant Captain to Inkster in three Solheim Cup contests.
Inkster encourages fans to come out and watch the Legends in action. “You can get as close as you want,” chuckles Inkster, with a nod to the Legends of the LPGA’s traditionally limited roping. “Autographs, pictures, we love all that.”

Wendy Ward and Angela Stanford
Also new to the event are Angela Stanford, a seven-time LPGA Tour winner and the current Solheim Cup captain for Team USA; 2023 U.S. Senior Women’s Open Champion Jill McGill; Sweden’s Solheim Cup veterans Maria (Hjorth) McBride and Charlotta Sorenstam; and Ashli Bunch, Tennessee native and LPGA Tour competitor from 1999-2012.
Tee times start at 10:00 a.m. both days. Parking is adjacent to the clubhouse within walking distance. Shuttles will also be available.
