Three Things to Know about the Greater Toledo Classic hosted by Stacy Lewis

The Greater Toledo Classic hosted by Stacy Lewis joins the Epson Tour for the 2025 season as a new and highly anticipated tournament. Highland Meadows Golf Club will play host for the inaugural playing on the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA after a storied history on the LPGA Tour. While the track may be new to some Epson Tour athletes, the Legends of the LPGA are welcomed back to a familiar area where they played on Tour.

Here are three things to know about the 2025 Greater Toledo Classic hosted by Stacy Lewis:

First Epson Tour and Legends of the LPGA Crossover Event Since Seiko Epson Corporation Became the Title Sponsor

While the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA and the Legends of the LPGA have had crossover events in the past, this is the first time both sets of athletes will be teeing it up together since Epson took over as the title sponsor in 2022. The athletes will be split up into two separate fields for the tournament, with the Epson Tour players competing for their share of a $300,000 purse, while the Legends of the LPGA will compete for a $150,000 purse.

When the event begins this Friday, July 25, 102 Epson Tour players will compete alongside 42 Legends of the LPGA. The first two days, the athletes will compete with their respective fields, but the final round comes with a twist. Each group during the final day of play, and after the cut, will contain two Epson Tour players and one Legend of the LPGA, setting the stage for what could be an epic final round.

The Toledo Community Continues Its Rich History with the LPGA Organization

The Greater Toledo Classic hosted by Stacy Lewis is a new name on the Epson Tour schedule, but it has been a mainstay in the Toledo area for over 40 years. The first playing of the event took place on the LPGA Tour, debuting in 1984 as the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic. In 1989, the event moved to Highland Meadows Golf Club, where it remains today.

This will be the first playing of the event on the Epson Tour; however, with the past and future of the LPGA Tour ready to take their crack at Highland Meadows Golf Club.

Champions Everywhere You Look

There are 144 athletes teeing it up this week in Sylvania, Ohio. When play begins, there will be 24 LPGA Tour winners in the Legends of the LPGA field and 27 Epson Tour winners in the Epson Tour field. Fifty-one of the 144 players this week have hoisted a trophy within the LPGA Tour organization, a staggering number for the field. Of the 24 LPGA Tour winners, Heather Bowie Young and Kathryn Imrie (Marshall) are the two players who can call themselves champions at Highland Meadows Golf Club, with Bowie Young winning in 2005 and Imrie winning in 1995.
