Maria McBride of Sweden birdied 18 to edge two-time LPGA Legends Championship winner Angela Stanford (2023, 2024) by one shot and win the 2026 LPGA Legends Championship.
“I was watching the leaderboard, and I think the biggest thing was that no one really took off too much, so I made a few birdies and that really helped me stay in it after a scrappy start,” said McBride, who suffered a double bogey on the second hole but bounced back beautifully with six birdies against one bogey for her remaining holes to card a final round 68.
McBride (a.k.a. Maria Hjorth earlier in her LPGA career) won five times on the LPGA Tour and represented Europe in five Solheim Cup contests. Last summer, she won the 2025 LPGA Legends Weekend presented by Resorts World Catskills.
Stanford secured solo second at six under par (207) for the tournament. Canada’s Corina Kelepouris finished third at minus five (208). Defending champion Cristie Kerr came out swinging in the final round, opening with an eagle on the par 5 first hole, but ultimately settled for a T7 finish with second round co-leader, Leta Lindley.
