(June 25, 2025 – MONTICELLO, NY) – There’s a new professional golf tournament in town this weekend, and it’s already legendary.
A talent-packed field of 40 Legends of the LPGA will descend on the Catskills to compete in the inaugural LPGA Legends Weekend presented by Resorts World Catskills, a 36-hole event set for this Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 at the Monster Golf Club in Monticello, N.Y.
Proceeds from the poker tournament held in conjunction with the event will benefit the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie, a 178-year-old organization dedicated to empowering children and families to achieve optimal health and well-being.
“Resorts World Catskills is excited to welcome the first professional golf tournament to the Catskills in 30 years,” said Robert DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East. “We are honored to partner with Legends of the LPGA to bring this signature event to Monster Golf Club, which has become one of the most exciting new courses in the northeast following its $40 million redesign led by architect Reese Jones. We’re so glad to play host to an event supporting the health and well-being of children and families in the region.”
The Legends of the LPGA is the official senior circuit of the Ladies Professional Golf Association for former LPGA Tour players aged 45 and over. It showcases the skills and personalities of 120 members who’ve combined for over 750 wins on the LPGA Tour.
Tee times for Friday’s opening round of the LPGA Legends Weekend start at 8:00 a.m.

Other notables in the field include 9-time LPGA Tour champion Christa Johnson of Tucson, Ariz., who has also picked up five wins on the Legends of the LPGA. Sweden’s Maria (Hjorth) McBride, a 5-time LPGA Tour champion, and Charlotta Sorenstam, who has one win on the LPGA Tour and played the Ladies European Tour from 1995-2008, will also compete.
