BJ’s Charity Championship Welcomes “Future Legends” to Ninth Annual Event

(August 18, 2026 – SANDWICH, Mass.) — The stars who helped shape the LPGA Tour will share the stage with four familiar faces from the next generation when the 9th annual BJ’s Charity Championship presented by Kimberly-Clark returns to The Ridge Club on Friday, September 11.

For the first time, Brittany Lincicome, Natalie Gulbis, Sandra Gal and Alison Walshe — four veteran LPGA Tour players under the age of 45 being welcomed as “future Legends” — will join the Hall of Famers, major champions and former LPGA Tour stars competing in the annual Cape Cod team event.

Each will make her debut alongside a World Golf Hall of Famer.

Lincicome will team up with three-time U.S. Women’s Open champion Hollis Stacy, Gulbis with three-time major champion Jan Stephenson, Gal with 19-time LPGA Tour winner Sandra Palmer and Walshe with five-time major champion Amy Alcott.

“It’s fun to have new blood, new names who also have personalities — and these younger players are pretty special,” said 27-time LPGA Tour champion and longtime Ridge Club member Jane Blalock, who won the 2023 BJ’s Charity Championship with teammate Patricia Meunier-Lebouc. “They’ve always been gallery favorites on the LPGA Tour.”

The pairings create an intriguing bridge between generations.

“It’s good for the Hall of Famers — they get a really strong player,” Blalock said. “And it’s good for these new LPGA players — the Legends in the field are the women they grew up emulating. They looked up to them, watched them and were inspired by them.”

The four newcomers bring impressive résumés of their own.

Brittany Lincicome

Lincicome is an eight-time LPGA Tour winner and two-time major champion. Gulbis owns an LPGA Tour victory and made three U.S. Solheim Cup Team appearances, while Gal is an LPGA Tour winner and two-time European Solheim Cup team member. Walshe, who enjoyed a decorated amateur career in Massachusetts, recorded five career top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour.

They join a field that once again brings together an extraordinary cross-section of LPGA Tour history.

Collectively, the players in this year’s BJ’s Charity Championship have amassed 289 LPGA Tour victories and 33 major championship titles. The field includes six LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famers, seven U.S. Women’s Open champions and three U.S. Senior Women’s Open champions.

The single-day, 18-hole championship is contested as a two-person scramble, a format that has routinely produced tight leaderboards and dramatic finishes at The Ridge Club.

Blalock expects the course to once again provide an ideal stage.

“The course is in great condition,” she said. “They always make sure it’s ideal for us at the time of the tournament. The greens are in wonderful shape, and the superintendent loves this event — his handiwork is on full display, and it never disappoints.”

And if history is any indication, spectators may want to make sure they have a view of the final hole.

The par-5 18th asks players to decide whether to attack the green with their second shots over water — a risk-reward proposition made even more compelling when the championship is on the line.

“I mean, that finishing hole, the par five 18th, the second shot — players going for it over the water — there’s a lot of drama, and usually, the scores are so close,” Blalock said. “Just an awful lot of excitement that often comes down to the very last putt.”

Admission to the BJ’s Charity Championship is free, with gates opening at 9 a.m. Seven foursomes will tee off from Hole No. 1 between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Proceeds from the BJ’s Charity Championship benefit the BJ’s Charitable Foundation, which is dedicated to taking care of families by providing access to essential needs.
